Assistant Director

GBRW is important to me because I believe the best way to move on from the sexism of ‘traditional’ musical theatre is to make new musicals and especially musicals by women about women’s experiences. New work is exciting to me, especially when it is lifting up diverse voices!

Colleen is a director, producer, singer, actor, feminist, writer, mother, and wife from Ohio, who moved to the Twin Cities 15 years ago to pursue a career in theatre. In that time she’s performed on a wide array of local stages, and has recently started to make the transition to creating, producing and directing the type of art she wants to see.

In 2018, her company Somerville Productions dreamt up Not Fair, My Lady! for the MN Fringe Festival, and since then has striven to amplify women’s voices, especially in music and musical theatre.
